NASC Affywatch
The NASC Affymetrix GeneChip service was initiated in 2001 via the UK GARNet program. We make all of the GeneChip data processed through our service and donated to us openly available on the web. However, GeneChip .CEL files are very large and we therefore provide these data on CDs to save downloading time, and to increase convenience for our users. Affywatch is the NASCArrays subscription CD / DVD service.
What do I get on the CDs / DVDs ?
On the CD/DVDs you get all of the gene expression data produced from each experiment, along with full MIAME annotation. Every year to date has had more than 600 GeneChips in total. Specifically you get:
- A series of webpages describing the experiment and experimental conditions
- For each experiment, you get an Excel spreadsheet and a comma separated values file with all of the gene expression data. (one file per GeneChip on AffyWatch I)
- For each GeneChip, you also get a .CEL file and a .RPT file for use with specialist Affymetrix analysis software
How do I order Affywatch?
You order AffyWatch through the NASC stock catalogue. Each period (year) has a different stock code. For the current year, you will receive CDs periodically. For past years, you will receive the entire set.I'm looking for a particular experiment - how do I know which year to order
